Had my 3rd infusion on January 25th. I continue to have very little side effects, yay! I know I am not out of the woods yet, but I am so glad that this is going a lot smoother than it could go. I continue to have fatigue, very manageable. I got a cold last week, so I am dealing with this annoying cough that is getting a little better every day, but still very annoying. The eczema flare ups on my hands has even gotten better. After the first infusion almost every morning I had to use my steroid cream to calm my hands down. Now, it is barely there. There was one morning last week that I had some diarrhea and worried that I was going to have to deal with that side effect. But, it only happened twice that morning and went back to normal, so must have been something I ate. I do hate that if something like that happens, I instantly worry that it's a side effect.
I hope everyone else on ipi is doing well too and have manageable side effects.
Infusion 4 is next week, the 18th. Thankfully these weeks have been going by very quickly and I am looking forward to getting back to work full time and going on with my life, not worrying about my next infusion or whether what I am experiencing is a side effect that needs medical attention.
Wishing everyone out there the best in their journey.

Thanksk for the update, Jenn! I've enjoyed hearing your posts. My mom recently just had her second infusion – she is doing the 3 mg – and like you, hasn't had a lot of side effects. She does complaint of a rash from time to time, but i tell her that that is something that we can deal with! 🙂
Good luck with the last infusion and with the rest of your journey.

Jenn, I have been thinking about you wondering how things are going. So glad to hear you are still feeling well. My dad is starting teatment in a couple of days and it seems they are doing radiation in the armpit along with Yervoy. Found an amazing article of the power of probiotics while on Yervoy. Will find it and post. I know you are supplementing. -

Thank you! Yes, I have been taking a daily probiotic along with drinking Kevita probiotic drinks once in a while. Starting to make more smoothies and juices with immune boosting veggies and fruits too. Anything I can do to help my body fight!
Good luck to your dad, I hope it all goes smoothly for him as well!

Good for you! I make smoothies every morning with greens ,blueberries, seeds and nuts etc. Also a lunch smoothie with 8 raw veggies along with ginger, turmeric, reishi and whatever leftovers I have around. Raw garlic, mixing either olive oil, coconut oil and grapeseed oil. Diet is KEY! My dad is starting Yervoy tomorrow. Nice to get the ball rolling. -

Thanks for the article link. I read a similar one in the Atlantic. Quite a while back I wrote on here about how my moles "acted up" while I was on CIPRO for an extended period 10 years ago. The connection was so obvious to me at the time that I did an Internet search on "antibiotics and moles". Nothing turned up. Now, reading articles like this one I have to wonder if wide-spread antibiotic use isn't somehow contributing to the development of some cancers by destroying gut bacteria that we need. It's a puzzle.

Maggie, I think you are on to something. Not just overuse of antibiotics but crappy food in general. People’s gut bacteria is completely off balance as are all other nutrients. My father has been somewhat on a healthy diet since my mother’s Stage 3 breast cancer 14 years ago, but no where NEAR what I would have prefered. I am a firm believer one of the reasons my mom has done so well is her diet and supplementation. My dad is now listening and making major changes as well. -
