I am curious how soon patients noticed side effects after first infusion. I did the first one yesterday.

          Hi Steve,

I had few and relatively mild side effects from IPI.  Mostly headache, "general flu-like symptoms", itchy skin, joint pain and fatigue.  The headache and achy feeling hit fairly soon after treatment and went away within 4 days of so.  The joint pain, fatigue and itch took a little longer to develop, maybe 2nd or 3rd treatment.  By the 3rd and 4th treatment I developed all of them fairly quickly after the treatment.

          Hope this helps!

My f ace, forehead , and back have been itching since two days after first infusion. I am doing ,Benadryl and Calamine lotion which helps. I will have the second Yervoy on April 13th.

I had no side effects after the first infusion and I was told by the melanoma team that none of their patients had ever had side effects after the first infusion.

                            Diarrhoea after the second.

Diarrhoea and rash after the third.

Diarrhoea, rash and inflammation of my anterior pituary after the fourth, which was always planned to be the last. The inflammation of the pituitary was unepected because I had coped so well up to then.

Everything resolved but the damage to the pituitary, which is permanent.

Weirdly the rash and the diarrhoea came back two months after the last treatment. That bout of diarrhoea lasted 40 days!

It was controlled with Imodium, so liveable with Looking back, taking a probiotic earlier would have been a good idea.

After the first infusion I noticed the fatigue set in the next day and that lasted about a week or so after the infusion. Every infusion has given me fatigue, I didn't experience many side effects. I have had some mild itchiness after the 3rd and 4th one. Few headaches here and there after infusions but I get headaches easily anyway so it was hard to tell if it was related. Joint pain started after the 3rd one, but for me joint pain is nothing new, so again it's hard to tell if it was Ipi related.

Hope it goes smoothly for you.

Thanks Jenn, I have fatigue all the time from other meds and the Multiple Myeloma. Some of the side effects will be hard for me to say its from Yervoy.

Hi Steve – essentially no side effects for the course.  Maybe a little fatigue, but it's hard to say if that wasn't just in my head.  I later developed itchy/dry hands and feet, but it could also be attributed to Keytruda.

One thing Ipi did do for me was reduce my bone met pain drastically.  Lesion were still there, but the pain was gone.  I started my treatment back when Ipi was frontline stage 4 treatment and Keytruda was second, so I did Ipi then Keytruda.

One thing Ipi did do for me was reduce my bone met pain drastically.  Lesion were still there, but the pain was gone.  I started my treatment back when Ipi was frontline stage 4 treatment and Keytruda was second, so I did Ipi then Keytruda.
