      Dear all, I hope you are all coping well. I'm currently stage IV receiving Nivolumab on my 18th month.

      'm planning a trip to Eastern Africa this summer where the yellow fever vaccine is compulsary for visas. I've read that one should not take the yellow fever vaccine while receiveing Nivolumab, but unable to confirm this from my doctors as of yet. Any views on this? Best.

          I am on NIVO and traveled to South Africa in Dec. I had to take malaria pills while there. BMS approved me to mix the drugs.  You should have your DR. contact BMS and ask.

          My two cents I would avoid East and Central Africa in the Summer months for your health.

                  I traveled to Africa last summer, on Nivo, and was approved malaria pills as well. I'll chase my doc on whether the Nivo/yellow fever combo is advisable. May I ask why you would avoid East and Central Africa?

                  I hope you are responding well to Nivo, I've been on for 18 months and have continued response.

                        It is strictly my opinion to avoid those areas because of a lack of medical facilities and in summer a higher rate of Ebola and Mosquito transmitted disease. I know at my hospital I needed to notify everyone that I traveled to Africa. All the staff was concerned if I was in East and West Africa.

                        If you have a power port you also need to understand air travel at high altitude over a long duration can cause blood clots. When I traveled to south Africa I was flying 36 hours and I was fine.

                        My NIVO treatment is going very well. I have 5 more treatments I out of 34 in 50 weeks to go.
