Dad had his Gamma Knife on Thursday. On Sat. he started having a hard time walking. On Sunday, he felt like he was spinning. Yesterday, he still could barely walk. Called doc today because he seemed worse. Doc. believes he has a brain bleed and has scheduled a MRI later today and do a Crainiectomy tomorrow.
The Roller coaster ride begins.

Jennifer, so sorry to hear this. Been following your posts since your dad got the diagnosis. Do you think your dad could have had a seziure?
You can read about my dad’s history in my previous posts. The last seziure left him unable to walk and move his right arm. He also lost his speech. The walking part and unability to move the arm happened a couple of days after the seziure. They immidiately did a scan since they suspected bleeding. None was found and his lesions were unchanged. They contributed it to his seziures.
It took him a couple of weeks but he started walking again and his arm is back to normal. His speech is 80% there. He had whole brain radiation back on July, alhough I would have prefered gamma. That is not common practice for multiple mets where he lives in Europe though. He has 13 lesions in the brain.
They must be pretty sure that it is due to bleeding though since they already scheduled the crainiectomy. Keep us updated to what happens.

Ugh Jennifer… I'm so sorry to hear this. I know you and your mom have been worried enough this week. Hopefully this will be something "minor" (nothing in the brain could ever really be construed as a small thing) that can be pushed aside quickly. Ann mentioned that her husband had two craniotomies, which he quickly recovered from. I did as well…… one of them for a radiation treated lesion hemorrage. Although, mine took 4 months to cause an issue. I had other lesions "bleed out" as well, but not in brain locations that caused physical difficulties. Both craniotomies were one night in ICU, then one night in a regular room. Far less pain involved than I feared… or than it LOOKED!
Best wishes for your dad, and e-hugs to the rest of you joining him on this coaster ride! I know we're all virtual strangers, but we are all thinking about you and your family.

Oh Jenn,
So sorry your Dad is having complications. Will be thinking about you all over the next few days, Its so hard trying to weigh up the risks any benefits of the treatments on offer- and this must be a shock given he had no symptoms prior to treatment. Good to hear others reporting that this can be worked through .A ray of light in dark times is precious,
Very best of wishes for a successful procedure
