HI guys! Haven't posted in a while but I was wondering if someone could help me out with something. I've been having a bruised pain feeling on my left ribcage for about a week(same side as my melanoma-stage 4). Doesn't seem to be getting better and I don't remember doing anything that could have caused it. Hurts to touch it, twist top part of body and when I'm stretching. I do not see any obvious bruising or redness on the skin, just bruised pain on the inside. So my question is is has anyone had any mets to the ribs and if so, what was the pain like or how did you know you had a met there? Just a little worried and hoping to hear others experiences. Any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated.

I had a similar feeling in my ribs about six months ago, lasted for a long time, like a couple of months or so, and I was also worried. Have had a couple of scans since and nothing showed up there. The pain eventually went away, no clue what it was from, but hopefully you're experiencing the same thing.. not melanoma related.

Hi Kristi – My sister had rib mets and they were quite noticeable because they really stuck out, even the smaller ones. A couple of them hurt and a couple of them didn't, so I guess that was dependent upon interfering with a nerve or not. Taf/Mek combo made them disappear BUT after receiving immuno for a period, she had quite a bit of pain in that area for some time after. So, we put it down to the immuno as no new mets ever developed there. Hope this helps!!! Best wishes!

Hi kristy
one of my side effects from keytruda is pain that the doctors call arthralgias but it is especially in my rib cage and torso ( though both sides) and feels more like torn muscles or sinovitis. I have had it off and on for 2 years and now treating with immunosuppressants. It's better but always there
