I posted very recently the topic called “scared!!!” in wich i was concerned about a pea sized hard lump in the back of my neck. I dismissed it as a symptom from the cold i have since it’s normal for lymphnodes in that area to swell up during a cold. Now i notice hard (but not rock hard more rubbery) non tender lumps in my groin the size of peas that are moveable. These are close to my most concerning mole and im afraid it could be melanoma that has metasized since a cold couldn’t affect the lymphnodes all the way down in the groin? Git a derm appointment in a week and im anxious to the point of not being able to sleep and just feeling full on depressed and being only 17 i don’t want to die yet. Any similar stories out there?

Even if you had melanoma, why would you have to die?

If it is indeed melanoma in these lymphnodes it is atleast stage 3 which has a bad prognosis.

Plenty of us stage 4 folks hanging around, not dying, so don't jump to conclusions. Also, it would not travel from your neck to your groin, that's very unusual. Melanoma is NOT the first option for these lumps you're feeling, so that's a bit presumptuous. Researching the internet and coming here won't help your anxiety. I know there's nothing I can say to make you think differently, but we've come across many people like yourself who have freaked themselves out to the extreme assuming the worst and after examinations and biopsies they end up not having melanoma. There are hundreds of other things that would be more likely than melanoma.

Thanks for your response. I also figured it would be weird that it would travel from neck to groin. The ones in the groin might not actualy be swollen they might be shotty lymph nodes that never quite go back to their normal size they all seem to be less than 1cm wich is reassuring. I have a derm appointmwnt in less than a week so i think i can survive until that. If anyone wishes for me to come bck with results just post on this thread asking for it ans i’ll give you them. If i do not come back i likely was given an all clear.
