Let me start by saying, I have been reading the past couple of hours and have gathered a wealth of information, so thank you.

I'm about to turn 35 and have two yougn kids, and been having issues with Atypical Lesions in my Buttocks region, from a bad burn 8 years ago… just showing up now.

      These were my results:

SKIN-RIGHT BUTTOCK- Lentiginous and Minimally Nested Melanocyctic Proliferation with Moderate-Severe Atypia involving Peripheral Region. Multiple original ad Deeper Sections as well as Pan-Melanocyctic Cocktail were evaluated. (I HAD EXCISION – I ASKED FOR MARGING LIKE AN IN SITU – CAME OF WITH HISTOLOGIC MARGINS FREE)

The weird part of this is I went to my deramtologist because a new what looked like "a pink mosquito bite" had been there for several weeks and would not go away, dermatologist said that was nothing, didn't tae photo and did a shave biopsy and ended up being moderate-severe.

That day she did the re-excision, biosped two more and ended up being mild and mild-moderate, these two wree brown raised moles I had for a couple of years, nothing new. Dr decided to leave this two as is and not re-excise….

BASED ON the burn I had in my buttocks and all that is showing up, I'm basically waiting for someothing worse…..actually my scar is realing froma few months back … purple still but the edge has a pink red bump and don;t know if its scar tissue healing or the bump coming back…. so scared I might get a second opionion.

Well, based on the moderate-sever I was basically told be her how young I was and how unfortunate to have these lesions so young…. basically she was so sad for me. I went through the summer with lots of fear, had a lot of trouble with summer activities with my kids and avoiding the sun, basically became anxious and so sad about feeling I was basically living under a rock…. no pool, beach anything like that for me anymore… I just want and NEED to be here for at least 15 more years for my kids.

Also, does anyone have a good recomendation for a melanoma specialist in MIami?

Sorry you are having so many problems.  The only thing I can help with is on weekends sometimes the responses are a little slow coming in so be patient.  As for a melanoma specialist in Miami I cannot help you as I don't live in that area but I do remember many mentioning the Moffitt Center but I believe it is in the Tampa area unless they have satelites elsewhere in Florida.

Thank you I apreciate your response. I will be patient with the responses given the weekend and spam.

              Hi Anon,

I don't have a recommendation for a mel doc in Miami, but you'll get a better response to your question by putting it in the title of your post. This will catch the eyes of folks who go to a mel doc in Miami.

              Wishing you peace!

#1 you have not been diagnosed with melanoma.  Yes, atypical moles have a higher risk of becoming melanoma but it doesn't mean they will.  You sound like you are on top of monitoring your skin for changes or odd lesions.  You know sunscreen and protective clothing will help deter further damage to skin.  That's all you can do besides pray and have some faith.  Anxiety and worry about what has not yet happened will wear down your body.  It can make you physically ill. I know from experience..stage 1b in May this yr.   No one has a crystal ball.  You are doing all you can do to protect yourself.  What will be will be.  Just be ready to fight IF that day comes..and it may never.  So live your life..enjoy your kids.  Any one of us could be hit by a bus tomorrow.  Find peace in knowing you are watching yourself, you have access to medical care if needed and the good Lord is with you.   Prayers for peace and good health.

AN8 your words mean so much! Yes this definitely has taken a huge toll on me…. physically and emotionally! It’s as if I feel this monster is coming and my severe mole was just a warning. Sometimes I look at kids and just cry. Plus so hard to keep up with their activities in the sun … Soccer etc… wanting to go to the pool… I feel like this is changing and affecting my life and every decision I make.

But… that said working on staying present and every time I feel as though having a severely atypical mole at 35 (I have like 25 moles max in my body-so 9 don’t have dysplastic syndrome) is basically melanoma (most pive read online is as close to melanoma as you can get) I say I am here today!

Thank you you and my prayers are with you too!
