Hello just wondering what a recurrence in a clnd scar would look like and feel like.

I had a tetanus shot 10 days ago and the nurse gave me a shot in my clnd arm. (Kind of frustrated with that) About 6 days later the site of my injection still hurt and then I felt a little raised patch right on my clnd. I cant see anything. It just looks like skin the size of a quarter with fluid underneath that is a little hard in some spots. Where its inflamed it’s not a different color from the rest. That night I was examining it and it started leaking blood so I squeezed it, blood came out and it got pretty soft. It has since refilled but alot smaller and semi hard in a little spot. It also is smaller then it was sunday.

Can melanoma recurrence be squeezed out or is it rock hard? Does this sound like anything anybody has had before?

      Thank you for your time

I don’t know the answer to your questions, but can share my own experience with recurrence around a (partial) neck dissection. One lesion was too deep to feel; next to it, another lesion has been a hard lump–jumbo blueberry size at the start of intralesional treatment, now a small green pea. Its texture varies during the treatment cycle, but is most often, solid/hard. Hope that was helpful. As always, see a specialist.

For 3 years after the CLND in my neck I had a bump on my neck near the CLND come and go. Sometimes this bump would bleed a little. This bump has been gone for 2 years. It was not cancer.

A bump/swelling is quite common with 8 out of 10 patients experiencing it following a tetanus shot. These apparently disappear in a week however, seeing that you squeezed the site healing will take longer.
Melanoma is not a fluid filled tumor but is considered solid and rather firm. I have had a 1.1 cm lesion just under the skin on my back, near my spine. Before it disappeared, it swelled like large marble, was very hard and within 3-4 days it was gone.

Thanks for the reply. Did it go away on it’s own or with treatment.

Being that I am stage IV, I chose Opdivo and Yervoy combo. The subcutaneous lesion swelled before disappearing about 5 weeks following my first infusion or 2 weeks after my 2nd infusion so definitely after immunotherapy.

Thank you for your reply. Have a nice Christmas. Based on my previous pet and my current ultrasound the surgeon says nothing needs to be done. Its just a abscess. Also it has been going down almost back to normal looking.

When I had a recurrence in my clnd scar, the scar itself had black spots on it and very tiny spots around the area that looked like freckles.

Derm said it felt like a broken cyst. Derm Lance’d it open to see if anything came out and derm said not much came out. When I did get home though it appeared alot more deflated and softer in general area. I had a ultrasound and will have follow up with surgeon just based on my history.

Ultrasound revealed I had this same oval shaped structure with no vascularity 1 year ago according to a previous pet. Ultrasound said most likely a hematoma or abscess. Still have to talk with Dr. If they even want me to do anything since I had it all along.
