I just got pictures done w/ dermascope images and the doctor was really concerned about a mole w/ 3 colors and abnormal borders. But, I reviewed the same mole from 2011 (at that time I did not have a dermascope image) and the mole looks exactly the same in 2011 as it does now. Granted, I can’t see the same detail as the dermascope, but overall the color and size is the same. Is this just the definition of an atypical mole or should I be concerned?

I would say you know your moles the best and it’s always good to take the opportunity to take another one out of the picture. For me it was the itching that was usually the sign. So I know itching isn’t always recognized as a sign, in terms of changes without color there could be other characteristics. You’ll know your skin better than anyone.
