      Hi!

      Do you know of it is possible to get a second opinion from one of the melanoma specialist in the US if you live in another country? If so, who is the most exepeienced when it comes to brain mets?

      My husband was recently diagnosed with several brain mets, and I am worried that he will not get the best treatment i my country.

          Yes, it is possible to get a second opinion in the US. And many doctors can do it over Zoom to avoid the travel. Usually you forward relevant scans in advance.

          Treatments such as immunotherapy, radiation on the brain met, surgery on the met if large or ackwardly located, then radiation after, are all common. My oncologists prefers to start immunotherapy and then treat met.

            Jenny, I’m sad that you and your husband have to deal with melanoma now. Having written that, there are plenty of treatments now to bring him back to good health. Back in 2012, I had approximately twenty brain metastasis taken care of. Dr. Veronica Luk Chiang. I was also in a clinical trial, treated with ipilimumab and nivolumab.
