      Hello, everybody. It really great to find so positive forum. I am 37, from Holland,mum of 17 years old daughter.à week ago, noticed very small mole on my leg ,that wasn t so dark before. Dermatologist 99 % sure that it is melanoma, but I still waiting for results of biopsy.this 2 weeks is really hard time for me, just terrible nightmare… But this forum made me think a bit positive.. That melanoma is not a dead sentence .. Through this mole was growing leg hair, so dermatologist says that it is a good sign. May be someone can explaine me,what she meant with that ?

          Welcome Lina,

          Dermatologists should not scare you before they have the results!   I've had several primaries but also many many more that have been biopsied and nothing!   That's the reason there is a pathology. 

          Don't read to much in the next 2 weeks.  Enjoy your daughter and wait for the results.

                  Thanx for quick reply. I also would like to stay calm, but it was check up with dermoscopie, so they can see abnormal things clear((( in that case biopsy just confirmation. Or may be my imagination already goes to far) .take care and thanks again

                    Dermatoscopes are tools, only, and they don't tell the difference between an atypical mole and melanoma.  They can only help a doctor decide if something looks more unusual than your other moles.  Changing moles don't have to be melanoma – they can be atypical.  They are certainly worth a biopsy, however.  But I agree with Linda that your doctor is jumping to conclusions.  Only a pathology report can tell for certain if you're dealing with melanoma.  Until you know for certain, you're scaring yourself needlessly with researching melanoma now.  Wait until you know for certain what you are dealing with.  Then you can can do a search based on actual pathology criteria, not just speculation.
