After 2 stomach resections I developed a new tumor in my abdomen. It is now quite large! I finished four doses of ippi in mid-April without any noticeable side effects… But now I seem to be having “minor” delayed effects?! Fatigue, lethargy, dehydration, low blood pressure, blood clotting DVT, mild diarrea and eye pain! I have had two blood transfusions and a hydration IV. I am on blood thinner shots, blood pressure meds and started narcotics for pain. So I guess my question is…After 2 stomach resections I developed a new tumor in my abdomen. It is now quite large! Mike:
I can't speak to the symptoms you are seeing being delayed side effects, but from what I understand the intensity of side effects are not an indicator of response. Side effects vary greatly from patient to patient, as to responses, but so far as I know the two are not connected for Yervoy patients.

I finished the four yervoy infusions in February with mild fatigue and diarrhea .. Afterward the fatigue began to slowly worsen, and my speech and memory were affected. Turns out my immune system attached my pituitary gland swelling it (it's in the brain) which caused the speech/memory problem. But it also stopped providing the normal steroids and that caused the incredible fatigue. Oral steroids brought the levels back up and I feel great.
Scans shows diminished tumors so all is well so far.
