Hi Margo,
I am new to this board. I have been reading posts about PD1 and I am looking for anyone on Merck Pd1 trial.
I am on the Merck PD1 trial in Texas. I am stage 4 and hoping that I too will have shrinkage like you. My first set scan's, I was stable. In a few weeks, I will have my second set of scans. I am very scared
Margo, I would appreciate if you could post how you are doing to give me hope.

If anyone eles is on Merck PD1 trial, it would be great if you could post how you are doing on the Merck pd1 trial. Any good news of others doing well on Merck PD1 would help me stay strong to get through the scans.
God Bless you all,
Kathy

Kathy,Glad to be connected with someone else on this trial. I have met a few people now who seem to be responding well to the treatment, and I understand Merck will be opening a couple of new arms with different dosing schedules for both melanoma and lung cancer — sounds promising to me.
As for me, I just had my 6 mos + scan last week, and the spot in my lung continues to shrink. The one on my back is slightly larger, but doctors believe it may be an inflammatory response. Most importantly the rest of my body remains clear.
Hoping and praying for continued response for myself and others. Best wishes to you too.

Hi Kathy, I am on the Merck anti-PD-1 trial in Los Angeles. I actually don't have melanoma, I have Stage IV lung cancer, but I don't know anyone else with lung cancer in the trial, so here I am on your melanoma site. I started in May, and just had my twelve-week scans. So far, I feel great and have had no side effects. My hair is growing back and I almost feel normal. Best of all, I am happy to report almost 70% shrinkage of my tumors with no new mets! We are all very excited at my response (by we, I mean the head of research, the nurses, and my family of course). I would love to keep in touch with others on the trial.
I have heard sometimes the first set of scans do not show great progress due to inflammation and other factors, but the next set might be much more promising. For the first time since this whole nightmare began, I have some hope, which is AWESOME!
