These are my the updated pictures, after scraping off it and a better quality camera. The last GP who saw it said he think it's angioma but then gave me a date with a derm this monday. When I see the pictures of angioma or hemangioma, (this looks close to hemangioma) they look raised from the skin. Mine is not raised, I have been pressing it to see if it has any growth underneath, I did blind test by feeling and seeing if it is different from the surrounding skin. I can't find anything.

This is the follow up from the other thread, since that thread got lost.
It is blood red without any multiple colors, but after reading about some great suggestions and knowledge I gained here, I am pushing for the excision. I can't help over think and fear that this derm is also going to blow me off saying she doesn't have time. Most derm are busy with botox in Canada, where the money is. I hope this works out this time.

I have a flat hemangioma on my back. My Mom has quite a few. Some are raised, some are flat. I agree it still looks more "blood" related than melanoma. But if you want the biopsy and the derm won't do it, ask for a guarantee "in writing" that is isn't melanoma. 😉

I'm not sure if I responded to your previous post (though I did read it) because I feel like if one has a big worry or suspicion, it's good to follow up of it for one's own piece of mind.
But I don't think this looks at all like melanoma, and even though I have a long and lasting history with melanoma, and have forced biopsies on plenty of doctors, I would NOT push for excision in this case.
Do you have some personal history of melanoma?
In your place, I'd might even ask for a shave bipsy. I know those are very unpopular on this board, and any other melanoma board. Because if it IS melanoma, a shave biopsy will interfere with the ability to judge breslow's depth.
A shave biopsy is the easiest to recover from, and excisional biopsy the toughest to recover from. A punch biopsy would normally be what I'd say to push for.
But this is on the bottom of your foot!! If you have an excisional biopsy, you'd be sitting with your foot elevated for weeks maybe. A punch biopsy is going to be just a couple of stitches instead of..who knows how many, and it's still going to hurt to walk on it. And a shave biopsy they might be able to do with NO stitches.
I could be wrong about this of course, I am not a doctor, and it's been many years since I had a shave biopsy..decades.
I think your dermatologist is going to look at it and totally agree with your GP.
Good luck!

Oh thanks the previous thread I couldn't find it. Glad it's not lost.
I don't have any history of Melanoma, as a matter of fact I only got familiar with the word melanoma 3 or 4 months ago, a friend of mine (brown guy who grew up in Canada unlike me, I moved here) he said something called melanoma, and he thinks it is a very low percentage out there, and the sun screen companies are basically blowing it out of propotion and the white people are their target customers, to get them paranoid and buy sun screen lotion. I was curious and looked it up. (I don't believe what he said though)
That's how I got to know about Melanoma, and it can also affect ethnic skin types is something I learned later on.
i am going to push for shave biopsy, but if the doctor is 100% sure it's hemangioma, I will go to another doctor and see if he says it is 100% hemangioma and didn't want to biopsy it. But I think it will give me peace of mind if they just biopsy it, even shave biopsy is fine with me. I don't mind it being on my foot if it is benign as it never bothered me, and it is on the sole, so no cosmetic concerns there. All I want to confirm is that it is benign or not.

I think I am losing my mind over this. I feel fine a few hours and all of a sudden I get this panick mode. I didn't think it was a big deal before but the paranoia is starting to get to me.
Today I very pretty girl smiled at me and came talk to me. But I had zero interest or motivation on anything and just looked away. I feel awful that this fear is starting me make me feel hopeless.
I mean I am not afraid of death or anything but I don't know what it is, unknown fear of your life style change? I stopped going to the gym for the past 4 days now, eating whatever junk I normally avoid.
How do I not let this get to me?

The rational part of you seems to realize that you are making a mountan out of a mole hill about this spot. But the emotional part if you is consumed with anxiety that is taking over your life. When that happens to me (which it does sometimes), I am usually displacing my fear about something else onto the mole hill. I would rather worry about the funny-looking spot on my foot than worry about losing my job, for example. If this spot is worrying you, by all means get it check out by a dermatologist. But meanwhile, you might ask yourself if you are really worried about something else in your life. Just a thought.

YOu are just like a ton of other people who have self diagnosed themselves. Most are WRONG. Most research and let the anxiety of their self diagnosis take over. That chances this is melanoma are small. You've had opinions to that effect as well. I suggest you stop doing any research until it is known that you have something worth researching. It sounds like you have let your anxiety lead to a bit of depression which might explain your current health lapse. Back away from it. Pre-worry never helped anyone.

Well..you stop letting it get to you by getting a grip on yourself! Concentrate on other things, start a new project, go back to the gym and put down the chips.
You are, at times, letting your anxiety overwhelm you (we all know what that's like) And that can interfere with your ability to take thoughtful, reasoned action, which is what one needs in these situations.
You've obviously spent plenty of time online learning about melanoma, so now is the time to learn about controlling your stress levels. I think there's very little chance you actually have melanoma, but if you do, you are going to be even MORE anxious, so you might as well take some time learning how to do something about it. Learning to bring calmness into your life on demand is a great tool, not just with cancer but in life
And listen, even if it does turn out to be melanoma, you just..deal with it and move on, that's what everyone has to do. You have to face each new challenge as it arrives. You can't guess what it's going to be when it gets here, because it's almost always a different challenge than you've planned for. Worrying about it ahead of time, like Janner says, does no good. In fact, worrying at all does no good. It's a useless pursuit to worry..not just about melanoma but about anything. Worry=useless. it won't help a thing.
And also, plenty of people out there have melanoma for many years, and they are getting along just fine. Usually, a melanoma diagnosis just means being more vigilant about watching your skin for changes, and protecting it from the sun. Even when it progresses, people often deal with it. Though this board is heavily weighted with higher stage patients.
But.. look at me, I am stage IV now, my first melanoma was clear back in 1983, and even though I am now facing more serious treatment, and have melanoma IN my lungs, I spent the whole weekend in the recording studio singing. You can't waste your life thinking about your death, or even trying to guess what the next horrible news will be.
And breathe. Just breathe. Go read this stuff:

I have to go along with what the others have said. The odds are definitely on your side that this is not Melanoma. It doesn't even look like a bruise, more like a broken blood vessel.
in the past I would not have even looked at such a spot hard. Knowing what I do now, I still suspect it is nothing to worry too much about at this point, but would want to know for sure. Lack of finding it be a lump is also a good sign.
YES, fear of the unknown is bothersome. Don't let it rule your liffe, learn. Push for follow-up you believe is necessary for relief of your mind. Don't freak out as much as you make the Doctors there think your are doing.

Thank you so much for all your responses, you guys are truly amazing and very supportive. Thanks Dian for such wonderful words about how not to worry about future. It helped very much and knocked me back to reality.
I have some good news that, today might be my lucky day or whatever. I saw the dermatologist today that I was pre scheduled, and surprisngly I got another call from another derms office that an appointment was cancelled and he had an opening in the afternoon.
So I went to the first dermatologist who was a very elderly doctor with many years of experience. She observed it and said she is not too concerned about it as she is certain the its hemangioma, blood vessels and its not even a mole.
I brought up the concern about it being Acral melanoma but she said nope its not but I am going to give you peace of mind and do a biopsy, come back this week Friday, lets do it if I want to. Its easier for you to rest on the weekend if its done on Friday. She was very reasonable.
Now I went to the 2nd dermatologist afternoon (its a high end cosmetic dermatology clinic) who leaned over and had a quick look for a second and said, you know what lets not even bother talking about it, we will do a biopsy and find out what it is and referred me to his plastic surgeon, and said he will just scoop it off.
But the date with the pastic surgeon was 2 weeks from now. The pastic surgeons office said they will take 3 weeks for the result. The first derm said she will have it in 2 weeks.
Does it matter who does the biopsy? I am not really concerned about any cosmetic appearnece as it is under the foot. is it worth waiting to go with the plastic surgeon?
I feel like the sooner the better and get it done this Friday and get the result in the next 2 weeks rather than waiting for 2 more weeks + 3 weeks for the results with the platic surgeon.

Good for you, Gal!
The main thing is to get it removed and to a pathologist. If it were to be Mel then who would do the Sentinel Node mapping and Wide Area Excission could make a difference. We are all waiting for the result!

Today I had the biopsy done. It looked clean inside. It wasnt a deep biopsy but it was more of a scoop. It hurts so bad after the local anestheisa had worn off.
Im going to try and be calm until I get the results in 2 and a half weeks.. I will update later.
