Hi,
I have had two series of Yervoy infusions about 1.5 yrs apart. My insurance signed off on the second series of infusions after a recurrance of a right temporal lobe lesion had me in for a surgical resection. I guess given that the pathology report had showed that 90% of the removed tumor was already dead the read was that the first infusion had had some positive response. No perfect science yet re dosage but in my stage IV metasticised case I had SRS radiation zapping done as well on both occasions. The only personal advice I would offer would be to keep an abnormally close on your intestinal system and let the Dr know if anything out of the ordinary. It did give me pause for thought, but I got over it quick, when his PA said she was more interested in my bowel movements than anybody else on the planet. She was very clear that if alerted early to anything amiss there was a good chance they can prescribe steroids and the like to get early control on anything that might be developing. I did have some overall skin itching but found an over the counter benedryl type drug the Dr mentioning helpful for me. All in all my Yervoy treatment was pretty easy and from the stats it's seems that the majority of users are able to tolerate it pretty well. I do wish you the best of luck and hope you have a nice non eventful yet full response.

I took the high does yervoy treatments and ny best advice is to not wait to report any side effects that you have to your Dr.

Same for the lower dose (3 mg/Kg body mass). Report ANY side effect ASAP! Reread the protocol; just about everything possible is listed. Some effects may take longer, even after treatments have stopped. It's important for you and for the trial that these effects are reported. You won't be brushed off or ignored.
