Hi guys, I've been having some trouble getting into this site lately and have been absent because of frustration with the verification process…although tonight I seemed to have very little dfficulty so maybe it was a temporary issue?

Regardless, I completed cycle 19 of Pembro this week and still hanging tough with NED status. I do have to admit that the Pembro is slowly kicking my rear end and taking its toll on my joints. Still manageable but I feel about 30 years older than I am when I get out of bed each morning…but…I get out of bed each morning! I have more blessings than I can count because I'm still here, still deep in the fight, and I'm surrounded by all of you warriors who inspire me every time I get on this forum.

There are many of you that I have tried to reply to recently without success once I start the lame recaptcha process but please know that I am thinking about you all!

Kerri –  Jake is in my prayers, you will find the right doc and the right treatment!

MelanomaMike (AKA Big Mike) –  Glad you are back on the Nivo my friend and I know you'll rock this upcoming surgery and finish off this bastard for good!

Bubbles – You are a super-duper-trooper! Teflon coated and bullet proof! You rock.

Amie – Congrats on the good news!!

Bill – Hang in there brother, and let me know if you find any pumpkin spice pembro near you!

      Tex

Hi, it has been very difficult to log in lately. I am so happy to hear you are still NED! Congratulations. I am sorry you are dealing with some aches and pains. My husband takes turmeric supplements daily they help with inflammation and lots of other things too. You can buy them on Amazon. They are not expensive and worth a try as they can't hurt you. Take care and I hope you enjoy the upcoming Holiday season.

I think I am already getting some turmeric in a supplement but I'll have to take a look and see how much. Thanks Amie! I hope your hub is doing well!

                  Hey Tex,

Glad you are pushing forward despite the fatigue and aches and pains that anti-PD-1 likes to kick us with while we're down!!!  It totally completely sucks!  But, you've got this!  Don't know how super-duper I am – HA!!!  But thanks for the shout out.  I'm hanging in there.  Yours, celeste

Thanks Celeste, I guess I can't gripe too much as well as I've tolerated all of this so far…I figured at some point I'd have to deal with all the usual stuff. I don't know if this is the best strategy but the aches, pains, and malaise serve to piss me off so I get more active…Like I'm giving the side effects the finger 🙂

Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. You keep on hanging in there and warrior on!!

EXACTLY!!!!  I would get so mad at being 'hog tied' and in pain due to my nivo trial (2010-2013)….  I would say…"YEP!  Screw it!  I may not run 5 miles today…but I can run to the STOP sign!!!  Take that melanoma and NIVO!!!  I will die.  But, not today!"

Here are a couple of my posts in real time.

Thanks for the good news.  Glad you are continuing to stay NED with Pembro.  I'm on the Nivo train and am hopefully following in your footsteps.  When I feel a little weak your posts help me tough it out.

                      Good wishes to you,

                      Jennifer

Tex…Great to hear that you are doing well. After doing Pembro, Pembro with trial drug and Ipi, I started a new trial five weeks ago. I have my first scan this Friday…hoping for an end of progression.

Hang in there…it is always uplifting to hear of those with positive results.

Hi Tex, ill ask about the pumpkin spice pembro next week when I get my infusion. #21 coming up next week. Glad you're doing well except for the joint pain. I agree when I wake up in the morning I feel like I'm 90.
