No real updates this week. Went in on wednesday to draw labs and everything looked great. So far im not experiencing any side effect which is amazing compared to interferon. go back in two weeks for more tests. I can"t wait for my first scan, I'm really hoping for the best. Will keep everyone updated when i get more news. As for now i feel better than i have since my surgery in April of last year.Think i might go back to work monday for the first time since June and im actually excited about.

Yes it will definitely be nice to break some of this cabin fever. Although I never thought I would find myself excited about going to work I actually am. Thanks for the support.

That's good news about no side effects so far.  I have been told that this BRAF/MEK combo usually has fewer and less intense side effects than BRAF alone.  I had some fevers and chills around week 5, but these were easily knocked down with tylenol or ibuprophen.   Otherwise the drugs have been easy for me to tolerate (I'm in 9th month).

                      Best wishes,

                      Harry

Definitely is good news, I couldn’t think of having to feel the way I did on interferon. The worst part of this disease is the lack of treatment options and almost all have severe side effects. I am really enthusiastic about this trial for the fact that if we can prove its effectiveness hopefully in the future people can maintain a somewhat normal standard of living while kicking melanomas butt.
