      Hi everyone,

Im new here. Was just diagnosed 2 days ago with stage 1. I’m only 35 and have 2 little kids, 3 and 1. I am so so scared. I have my surgery on Tuesday to remove more. After the initial biopsy it is .38mm. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hard to come to terms with, I know.  But honestly, you are in a good place as far as melanoma is concerned.  Early stage 1.  Get your wide excision, watch for new "weird" moles or existing moles that change.  Watch your scar area for any pigment regrowth.  Ask your doc to show you how to check your lymph nodes.  Practice sun safety – for you and those kiddos.  Then LIVE LIFE!  Chances are you'll never deal with melanoma again.

I was diagnosed at age 29 with a stage 1 lesion (.58mm).  That was in 1992!

          Good luck!
