You may have several more melanomas during your lifetime or you may have none; it's hard to say. Most people don't have multiple melanomas on the skin, but some, like yourself, do. However, if you have very frequent skin checks and remain diligent, you stand a good chance of catching any new melanomas in their early stages before the cancer has had a chance to spread internally. Keep up with the skin checks and watch your skin for evidence of changing moles.

Think of it this way, although it may seem like a string of bad luck to have had now 3 melanoma primaries, it's good that you've caught them all early (I assume by your profile that says stage 1). I would rather be dealing with a 3rd early stage melanoma primary than just 1 primary that put me into stage 3b. My future looks more grim than yours just based on statistics and staging info, although I never personally think of my future as grim only because I have no clue what my future holds… just like any of us. So, keep up the work of doing your skin checks and getting things biopsied. There's a good chance you'll never get another one.
Wishing you all the best,

Join the club… I've had three (in situ, stage 1, stage 1)… it's uncommon but not all that uncommon if you know what I mean. Janner has also had three and there's people on the board who have had more than three. It's just shitty bad luck, there's no other description for it, but as jenniunicorn points out, three thin primaries is nothing compared to one later-stage melanoma. Also, on the bright side, studies have shown that people with more than one primary have better survival stats than those with only one. So it's not great, but certainly not all doom and gloom!

Here's the paper I read on it – I'm sure there are differing views, but here's what I was referring to:
