Hi all,I’m stage IIIC melanoma and currently on a interferon treatment. I’m In the 3 day a wwk shot part of the treatment. I asked my doctor when I might be getting some more scans done and he said I wasn’t unless my bloodwork warranted it. Just wondering if anyone has heard or experienced a similar situation.

I did not have any scans prior to the end of interferon treatment. I was told it could show false positives on a scan. My scans were about a month after treatment. I believe this is the norm.

As you might already know, all oncologists are different re: frequency of scans. I was Stage III (unknown primary) when doing Interferon. I had scans every 4 months….CT of the chest, abdomen and pelvis with a brain MRI alternating with a PET/CT of the body.
Good Luck with the Interferon. One day at a time.
