Went to see derm in December and pointed out two red bumps that had come up quite suddenly a few days before my appointment close to my original site. Derm did a biopsy and it was melanoma. Since then, I have see oncologist and melanoma surgeon and they have numbered and taken photos of the new bumps. When I saw them on 1/26/16, I had 12, and when I counted them two days ago, there are 32. I am sceduled to start T-VEC injections for each lesion at the end of this month. I was wondering if anyone else has had this done and what kind of side effects I may be in for, like can you drive yourself home after the injections, etc.

I haven’t done t-vec but would be very curios how it works for you. I had about the same amount of in transit disease on my upper groin. It was a confined area not widely spread. The doctor used braf inhibitors and cleared the area totally in 2 weeks. I then had a large resection and pathology showed no cancer it was all replaced with macrophages. Good luck to you. -

I will let you know how it goes. I've already had a complete resection before the lesions came back, so this is what my doctors say the next step is for me. I will do the first treatment on the 23rd of February then again 3 weeks later. After that it's every 2 weeks. I have a restaging PET scan in April. Thanks for replying.

I have the in-transit melanoma on my right shin. I had my first injections on Feb 3. No problems, I drove myself home. The following day I felt a bit fatigued, but still went to work. Aside from that, I had no side effects. I get my next dose tomorrow
