First you need a much clearer understanding of what your diagnosis is. Meet with your oncologist then re update your post. Make sure you get a copy of the pathology report. The 172.9 makes no sense to me. Did you have a wide local excision? The path report will tell you much much more.

Treatment depends on stage.  Your oncologist will discuss all of that tomorrow.  I suspect you will have some time to mull over your various options before getting started with treatment.  Depending on your stage, you might opt just to monitor closely.  If it's a very early stage melanoma, surgery may easily be all that you need.  Don't worry about it for tonight.  Breathe deeply, get your rest, and have a good appointment tomorrow.  πŸ™‚

Thank you for your replies. It all went well yesterday and I was told that it was "in situ" so as you can imagine I was over the moon. I just have to go back on the 8th and they are going to remove some more tissue and that is it hopefully! xx
