Ok a little embarrassing thats why im posting ANON. Ive had hemmroid surgery years ago (2012) and also a colonotomy. ( nothing unusual from those tests). Was diagnosed with melanoma this year. I passed a stool today and I noticed there was some red blood on the stool and also on the toilet paper. It was a little painful also by the anus opening when the stool was passing. I had a pet/ct scan 2 weeks ago and nothing unusual was found. Im going to mention to my oncologist but do you think this is anything to worry about. This wasnt the first time Ive seen blood in my stool. I remember seeing in october also. For now ANON

I get that sometimes too but I never had the hemorrhoid surgery. So I can feel them pooching out. And sometimes flat when they blow. Also have some near the entrance on the inside. So could be that but like janner said should have doc check it out.
Also if I remember right the pet and maybe ct aren't as good at the colon as a colonoscopy. Granted you just had one 3 years ago so that might be too soon. Dunno.

More than likely this is a flareup of hemorrhoids. My husband also had surgery, and he still finds blood from time to time. That being said … one of our members here had melanoma that went misdiagnosed as hemorrhoids. It would be worth a mention to your doctor.

Hi
I would seriously recommend that you have a colonoscopy just to be on the safe side.
I had a similar experience but my stool was almost black on occasion.
The scope diagnosed a stomach ulcer but after having been biosied, turned out to be melanoma. The tumor was found to be 6cm by 4cm once removed and was a met from my lungs.
I had to have my whole stomach removed 2 weeks ago (23/11)
Not a pleasant experience!
I wish uou the best of luck and really paray that it is not a serious condition
Regards

Oh, I have also had blood in my stool. It was from hemroids. Also, so sorry about your whole stomach being removed! Did they know you had that big of a tumor before they went into surgery? Wow. I am so sorry.

Yes, they took an image of what was thought to be an ulcer and roughly knew how big it was at that stage. It was only a week or so later that the biopsy result came and confirmed the ulcer to be malignant melanoma. The tumor was too big for them to only remove a portion of the tummy so all had to come out.
