Can blood moles be melanoma? I was first diagnosed in 2003 and have been NED since my WLE. I required no other treatment.

I have a blood mole that has been there for a few years but is changing. I can't get into derm until Friday. Freaking out a bit.  TIA

So I'm not exactly sure what you mean by a blood mole.  Is this red?  When you push on it, does it blanch to skin color?  If so, this is a hemangioma.  Basically, it is a blood vessel that is close to the surface of the skin.  The blanching is the key, because cells don't really change color when you push on them, but blood flow in vessels will stop momentarily when you push.

Don't worry until you are told there is something to worry about!  Preworry never helped anyone.  Hopefully this is a hemangioma and totally benign!

My initial primary lesion in 1999 was on my neck, irregular and would bleed on occasion around the edges. Not sure if this is what you are referring to. It turned out to be a Clark's Lvl 3.
