I am wondering if it is common for someone to go from stage 3 to then finding brain mets but no mets anywhere else? Anyone on here experience only brain mets?

I don't know if it is common but that is my story.  Went from 3b in groin to 2 small brain mets detected on an annual MRI about 28 months after CLND.  CTs of body have always been clear.

Similar to my husband' case – from 2a to stage 4.

majority of mets in brain and several in lungs.

but brain presents the biggest challenge to treat.

if the number of keys is not significant – then start the treatment ASAP. The doctors might suggest either craniotomy or Gamma Knife treatment.

If the number and size of the lesions is not big, the immunotherapy might be a good choice .

Otherwise , depending on whether there is BRAF mutation , the target therapy might be suggested .

My dad went from stage 3 to finding 13 mets in the brain. He never had mets anywhere else. He was on Yervoy while still stage 3 and the doctors said this is what might have kept the cancer out of the rest of the body.
