Hi Everyone
I've posted several times about my Stage 4 husband, Pete, who is soon to undergo Gamma Knife radiation for brain mets after a successful Craniotomy 11 days ago. He is being treated at Princess Margaret in Toronto. I was hoping to find some fellow Canadian patients/caregivers, as sometimes our treatment options are a bit different than those in the US. I live in Kitchener, Ontario, an hour west of Toronto.

Hello Yasmin,
My son is being treated at the same centre in Toronto. He has stage 3C. Our experience has been very positive so far. He had multiple surgeries for lymph excisions and he is now in the maintanance dose for IPI (trial).
He was offered radiation after the last surgery (neck area) but he's chosen to not expose be exposed to radiation treatment for as long as he can. Our experience with Dr Hope, radiologist, was very positive. He spent enough time with us and explained very thoroughly the pros and cons of either doing radiation or not.
Your husband is in one of the best Centres in the world. They have plenty of access to excellent practitioners and trials.
My husband, who passed away from cancer, was treated at the Juravinsky Centre in Hamilton. Great place, though I feel more confident about Princess Margaret now that I can (unfortunately) compare both places. Interesting enough, I found the radiation specialist at the Juravinsky as kind and thorough as Dr. Hope.
Wishing you the best!
