Hello,Ever since I heard my diagnosis had the word melanoma in it, i havent been able to resume normal life. I feel so guilty because i should be extremely happy it the was cut it out and you are done kind, but i cant go a hour without thinking about it. I’m constantly checking myself for changes in moles/freckles and feeling for lymph nodes. I do have 3 papable nodes in my groin that i would guess are under a cm – I just had an aytypical mole cut off my buttock and leg, so I’m assuming that is why those are able to be felt. I also can feel one on the right side of my neck and two on the right. They are small as well, but they continue to freak me out. Two days ago i have also noticed that a mole on my arm has began to have a burning sensation. I am just constantly worries about everything. I want more moles/freckles taken off, but the doctors tell me that they are fine, and i should be done being cut on for a while. I had a full body check by my doctor as soon as we found out, and have already had all suspicious ones removed that she picked out. I have an appointment with a well trusted and liked dermatologist in my aera for a full body check again on 7/19. The thing im most concerned about is my lymph nodes.. what do you all think?

First off I am extremely sorry and my prayers go out to you for healing. I just was diagnosed in May and had surgery to remove the deposit and biopsy my lymph nodes. I was shocked when they came back positive for stage 3 melanoma. I now have another surgery in 2 weeks and radiation after. And possible chemo. I too can not go one minute without thinking about it. Even when I’m with wife and daughter. I feel selfish. But the doctors assure me that they’re going to get rid of it and I’m healthy enough to take the treatment. I have had a lot more peace the past few days. I know exactly how you feel. I’m not trying to scare you, I just wanted to relate. I hope and pray that your completely healed already and the doctors will find nothing. Hold on to Hope and have faith. -

I’ve been I’m your position Courtney.
Its very easy to get razed and go into panic mode. At one point my exiety became so bad I was having borderline panic attacks which lead to depression, things I’ve never have experienced before.
Focus on the positive, with being in situ, you ate in a favorable position having caught your melanoma early. Don’t let yourself get caught in the statistical game and just get back to living life. Like many challenges in our lives, this will pass. Its also good to have a god team of doctors to follow up with. Have a good dermatologist, one who is personable but thorough. If you read my profile I’m coming up on my three year mark in October after have gone three surgeries (one involving my lymph nodes) and a years worth of interferon. I’m in remission until my 5th year when I’ll be declared clinically “cured”. So far so good. You’ll get there too! This board is a wealth of knowledge and support but don’t forget to be thankful of everything around you and enjoy life!
Cancer sucks, knock it on its ass and move on!Best wishes to you.
