After one cycle of phase 2 trail, the scheduled three month scan was done yesterday.
Crossing fingers, the result would be on Thursday appointment, or maybe my doc will call me today to discuss it.
We just hope it doesn't grow for more than 20%. And then I can still rely on this trail.
Extremely fatigue during this treatment. I am still working during the no treatment days, but my energy goes down quickly.
Pain is not very big issue, but sometimes it is annoying, especially when I am sleeping.
Next month it would be 1 year survival for me, which is so called average survival duration in my case. I am still kicking and not losing hope.

Hi D.Feng,
praying that you have good results with scans, there is a few of us due scans this month I think mine on 29th February but we do not get scans back same day mine will be 26th march so a long 4 week wait.
Treatments do take it out of you, and you are doing great to continue work. I work 3 days but also a mum and have a dog so it is nice at times just to be on my own with no one wanting anythink lol.
Good luck with scans

Hi jenny22,
i go next Sunday for MRI on brain and body scan CT yes I do have to wait 4 weeks I think it works out about for results. I think it is bad to have to wait so long it's bad enough when scans are due never mind waiting for results . Not sleeping much with stressing. I think when I have them done I will ask how long for results to get back to consultant if they say less than 4 weeks then I will get on the phone for them. Unfortunately in UK things are at a slow pace.
Thanks thou

I wouldn't judge them all the same way, I have had my scans the weeks before my Oncologist appointment for the last 2.5 years and the results are always completed. I had a ct scan of chest and abdomen every 6 weeks during the first 15 months of the BMS trial and Brain MRI scans every 3 months. The Canadian system has some problems but no one is kept from having access to treatments or care based on their ability to pay for coverage. I must admit waiting a month is crazy or will drive some people to be crazy!!!! Ed

Hi ED,
will be asking after scans when consultant will get results then I will be calling ASAP, or call my melanoma nurse. Seems a good process scans then appointment booked before. My last scans had to call my nurse due had a really bad chest infection and was worried if my tumours had got worse as well so she had a look and called me so I knew results before seeing consultant. Scans are nervous when due for all but a month for results is a bit too much in our position.. I do like the idea of some on board gets scan and see consultant same day for results, it is different country's which systems are different plus treatments access is easy in some than others too.
Keep well

I am in the UK being treated on the NHS. I don't see it as a 'delay'. I have my three-monthly appointment at the clinic and my scan is usually one or two weeks before my appointment. That allows the opportunity for the results to be discussed by the team of oncology consultants at the biweekly review of all cases before my appointment if the scan showed anything unexpected.
The cancer is doing the same if the scan is two days before or two weeks before.
I get great personalised care, including email access to fabulous specialist nurses. I did not have to worry that my insurance company might not pay up or that there was no access to a melanoma specalist in my area.

Hi MoiraM
Hope you are well, I went to see my consultant for my 3 month review scans ordered got call from hospital to book scans which are just over 2 weeks wait but then don't go back till a month for results I think a month wait is a bit long when you are anxious. Two weeks seems ok but a month when you will be worrying. I will ask when scans are done how long my consultant will get results and if less than a month I will call.
In all from my 3 month review doing scans results is a process of 7 weeks which I feel is long time . Some guys see consultant and gets results same day I know it's different in where you live ect, but just wish it was quicker .
Do you have scans first then appointment for results or like me see consultant , scans ordered then booked in then appointment for results.

That does seem like a long time. My process goes like this: (1) I book my next three month appointment on the day I see my specialist at the regular melanoma clinic (2) They order the scan (I'm only getting a CT scan) (3) the appointment for the CT scan turns up and it is usually about a fortnight before my appointment with the consultant (4) have scan (5) keep the appointment.
The blood tests are done on the day of the clinic. (1) Report (2) Blood test (3) Weighed (4) Wait (5) Wait (6) Wait (7) See my excellent but massively overworked consutant.
I confess I think my process seems better than yours.
I ahve tried sending you a private message but the private messaging does not seem to work. Do you want to communicate off the board. If yes, I could create a 'once-use' email so that we could get in touch.
