I've understood that when very high numbers go down quite a bit, that's a good sign. For some people, the numbers really never go too high despite what might be going on inside.

For my wife LDH has always been a good indicator of response. Went from 2000 to 400 after starting with BRAF/MEK, stayed stable, then started to move to 1000 then 1300 – and yes the next scan showed significant disease progression. She is now on Keytruda (2 infusions, 3rd this Wednesday) and her LDH started to lower back to 600 right after the first so we HOPE it's a sign of reponse.
Good luck to your daughter – and you!
(PS. You've posted before right in the topic? 🙂 Just checking haha)

Hello,
My husbands LDH levels were high when the disease was active and then dropped to a normal range and the doctor was thrilled and said this was a good sign that Yervoy was working. Next his eyebrows started turning white and the doctor became more enthused.
Yervoy worked for him and he has been NED for almost 2 1/2 years now. Lets hope your daughter is also responding. If you want to read more check out his profile.

It was probably after the initial 4 doses (12 weeks) when he was in the maintenance phase where he received the infusions every 12 weeks but in his profile it is noted that the eyebrows, beard, and mustache were almost totally white by 6 months.
He says he wishes he had kept better notes as to the happenings but that is hindsight now.
