Ive easily lost 50% of my hair, if not more. Noa, I had a LOT of hair, and i wear it up, so folks say they dont notice it. But I liose 2 fists full every time I brush it.

It started falling out during my first hospital stay in August. I thought it was the steroids, so hoped it would stop after I weaned off… that took 8 weeks because I had a recurrennce and a second hospital stay; they upped me back to 90mg.. Now Im not sure, as Ive been off steroids for over 3 weeks now, and Im still shedding!

Anyine else have this? How long before it stopped? Im trying to figure out if I should just shave my head, or stick it out… I think I only have until Christmas before Ill look mostly bald.

I didn’t lose 50% but I lost a significant amount of hair after combing off of steroids. I was in the hospital on very high doses of steroids and left the hospital on 60mg a day…which I slowly weened off of for 3 months. After I got off the steroids the shedding started and it continued from late May until early August. It subsided slowly so it took a couple of weeks for me to feel confident that it had stopped. I asked the board if anyone experienced anything similar and didn’t get any responses, which made me anxious. If I were you, I would not do anything drastic just yet and instead wait to see what happens. Sending good thoughts your way, I know the hair loss really bothered me!

I had hair loss and developed about 100 white hairs after the first time I had brain tumor radiation, 6 months after crainiotmy. High dose steroids didn’t effect me at all. I always cut my hair really short and it was crazy how immediate it was.
