Hi all, my husband had his first round of radiation yesterday. He will have 4 . He is in Houston and I am home with my kids in Dallas, this was their first week back to school. I hate being away from him, but I couldn't go this time.I just wondered if anyone else has had radiation combined with Opdivo?

Good day Mrs. Amie – I feel that you are looking for me. I had 3 Gamma Knife radiations to the brain ➕the       nivo / ippi trial. Also I participated in two craniotomies. I will be heading to Yale – New Haven next week for scans. If I come up clean, it will be six years NED. Amie everything is going to be all right with your husband.

I had radiation to a tumor under my left jaw on May 22, 24, 29, 31 and June 4, while continuing to receive Opdivo.  I will have a PET scan on September 5.  I began Yervoy-Opdivo immunotherapy on April 1, 2016.  Then continued receiving Opdivo.  My only side effect from the radation was fatigue.

I recently received radiation to my left heel heel while on opdivo. I had 5 treatments to about 20 local satellites. I have about 4 left that are very faint. I went by myself most days because youre only there for about 15 mins. My only side efffect was a gnarly burn to my surgical site which is still healing a little over a month later. Radiation and immunotherapy are a powerful combo!

Hi – yes I did.  Opdivo in combination with targeted brain radiation to kill an aggressive tumor which decided to start growing back ten days after it's removal.  I've had success in that it's been a little over 1 year since I had the radiation and went back on the Opdivo.  I'm still on the Opdivo infusions and the brain MRIs are still looking good.  I had 5 radiation treatments (one every day for 5 days) and it was pretty high dose but very effective.  Of course I lost my hair but it is growing back.  My radiation side effects were minimal.  There may be some long term effects but it is too early to tell.

Your husband understands and probably feels comforted knowing you are there for the kids.  I was in the hospital for a bit a while back and sent my husband home to be with the kids because it gave me peace of mind.

I hope your husband does well.  Good wishes to you both.

                      Jennifer
