      I'm stunned right now.  I had surgery 4 weeks ago tomorrow.  Started radiation along the ulner nerve on Monday. On Tuesday I actually saw a lump on my lower arm, about 4 inches below the surgery site. When I went into radiation I pointed it out to the radiologist. She was concerned but thought it could be a blood vessel.  I thought it got smaller the next day. 

      I'm stunned right now.  I had surgery 4 weeks ago tomorrow.  Started radiation along the ulner nerve on Monday. On Tuesday I actually saw a lump on my lower arm, about 4 inches below the surgery site. When I went into radiation I pointed it out to the radiologist. She was concerned but thought it could be a blood vessel.  I thought it got smaller the next day. 

      Today I had an appointment with my local oncologist (happened to be scheduled appointment). The radiologist had called her. She thinks it's melanoma. Said it felt exactly like the  tumor that she felt on me last summer.  Has a call  into my mel specialist for the next step. 

      It makes sense because all of a sudden the nerves were really bothering me again on that arm. I was hoping it was from using it to much and the positioning during radiation.   What doesn't make sense is that the first node was closer to the arm pit, the second one was closer to the elbow, this one if it is mel is on the other side of the elbow.  Doesn't disease traditionally follow the pathway to the heart?  It's going in the wrong direction.

      A break of more than 4 weeks would sure have been appreciated!

      5 year cancerversary of stage IV is July 6th.  Would like it to be while I'm NED!!

          I am so sorry to hear this, Linda! I will be praying that the lump is not Melanoma and that you get to celebrate on July 6th NED!! I'll drink a glass of wine in your honor that day to celebrate your 5 years. 🙂 Do you still go to Blumenthal Cancer Center? If so, that's where I go- maybe I will see you there sometime!

                    I hope this lump is nothing either. In February, I had an egg sized lump in my groin which my surgical oncologist said was cancer. After two biopsy's, it wasn't anything other than my immune system doing it's job. Turned out I had cancer in the lymph node beside it. My oncologist was shocked and said she hadn't seen anything like that before. You just never know and I hope in your case, it's nothing to worry about.

                    Let's hope the NED continues!

After two biopsy's, it wasn't anything other than my immune system doing it's job. Turned out I had cancer in the lymph node beside it. My oncologist was shocked and said she hadn't seen anything like that before. You just never know and I hope in your case, it's nothing to worry about.

                      Let's hope the NED continues!

                          That stinks,Linda….I am so sorry….I think Mel  does what it wantS to, when it wants, any direction it wants too….Jim's went from right side of scalp behind the right ear, to that node. then jumped to the opposite side (left)  under the arm, then in front of the left ear, then to places all over the back close to the spine before going on into the intestines…..It does what it wants…It is an ugly beast that consumes some of the ones we  love.  I am glad you have a very supportive family….and sweet grandbaby to love on….that helps everything…Keep on keeping on…see you on Face Book, my friend…

                                    Just got a call from the mel specialists nurse. Of course I wasn't home.  He wants to see me and wants to call the radiation off. Since he hadn't talked to me he wants the rad onc to call him before treatment tomorrow.                                         I'm so sorry that you can't seem to catch a break.  You've been dealing with this long enough and know that only a biopsy will confirm or rule out melanoma.  I hope you can find out sooner rather than later.  The uncertainty and waiting is so difficult.

                                          I'm so sorry that you can't seem to catch a break.  You've been dealing with this long enough and know that only a biopsy will confirm or rule out melanoma.  I hope you can find out sooner rather than later.  The uncertainty and waiting is so difficult.
