I felt so incredibly lucky today. I was able to piddle about in my yard with the love of my life, feel the warming breeze on my face and see one more spring. Melanoma is more than able to take that moment, this day, from any of us. So as I tried to soak in the spring beauty that life afforded me once again, I thought about things. And first and foremost it was this…
You folks have been so kind and generous as to give me a shout out once or twice. It really warmed my heart and gave me strength to continue whatever it is I do. So I felt the need to return the favor. Ed has provided so much incredible information and support to me in particular, as well as so many others on this forum. I know that my posts can be too wordy and "sciency" (I like that new word, my dear Adriana's Rob!!!) for some. Ed is amazing at finding the perfect web footage to fit the person in need!!! We all learn different ways and are so fortunate to have the avenue he provides. Additionally, he is ALWAYS ready to help those in the most dire straits. He never turns away. He steps up. Giving us the best and latest in melanoma data and reports.
For me ~ he's made me laugh out loud more times than I can count. Yes, Ed…I think you're very smart and funny!!! Now don't let it go to your head!
We are all different peeps. In all different stages of melanoma. In all different stages and places in life. It takes a village. And this forum is an amazing one. So….thanks to all of you for what you've shared with me all these years. And thanks to my dear Edster, my mousie brother, for being you and for being willing to put yourself on the line for so many!
love, celeste

Ditto on the good sentiments. Ed, I need your email contact info or FB info again.
One big happy family, right? I've been on this board longer than most – 17 years now before the MRF took it over – and there are always bumps in the road. This too, shall pass.

Thank you Ed and Celeste and all the regulars who frequently share their knowledge. This forum was a blessing for me and even though my mom has passed, I hope to follow your example and share what information I can. I still think of everyone in this forum all the time and my heart goes out to everyone who is still fighting.

I am very grateful especialy to ed, celeste, and janner – and to many others on this board for helping me if i have questions or in teaching me about this disease. Also for sharing your experiences and different treatments – which help me in the choices i have to make. Also its great to see people supporting each other. I rely on my melanoma specialist but its great learning from this board, and also the advice here helps me understand what my doctor advises me. Anyway, Ed, many thanks.
best wishes Mark

I would still be reeling and free falling if it weren't for you, Celeste, and Ed, and so many more who post, and I should back and find more names, since there should be a list like on Mrs. Abrams' first grade class wall of everyone who helped. (It would be long.)

Ditto, Ed is absolutely invaluable! His ability to present complicated information is such a way that we can digest and understand (no matter what level the research is at) is absolutely one of the best skills for this board. Taking the time to do this for all of us, is truly wonderful, thank you Ed! well done and so glad you are on this board.

No one has to monitor this board daily to help others who are in shock or desperation, but some do. Thanks Ed and all the warriors who donate their time to provide valuable information and hope! For so many, you make their world a less scary, better place.

As you say this is a village, but within the village we have peers and Ed is up there as one of those subscribers to whom a lot of us rely on for advice, you've both earned our respect through you're dedication to the cause. His ability to cut through the mountain of "research" out there is stunning and the volume of research is increasing expotentially, so without the Ed's of this board we would all be struggling, I looked at some of the other Mel boards, in fact I'm a member of a few, but this board and Ed, Yourself, Jenn, Jenner, etc are the ones I turn to when I need impartial, balanced advice based on years of experience and research, Ed I just want to say you're one of the best.

Yes! Ed is wonderful, as are you Celeste, and all the other regulars on this forum. It's the one place in social media type forums where almost everybody is pulling together, to the benefit of us all. Whenever I have been asked, by doctor, nurse, social worker, whoever, about my support system, I mention this forum. I really don't know what I would do without it and all of you.

Ed was the first person to welcome me to this board and not only was he gracious and helpful, I was so pleased to learn he was a fellow Ontarian. It meant alot because I knew so little about mel and even less as to what treatment might be available here. Keep on keeping on Ed, this board is a better place just because of people like you!!! Best, always!!

Well said Celeste! I haven't logged in for a couple weeks and it appears as though I missed some type of hullabaloo. Ed has never ceased to amaze me with how much pertinent information he provides to this forum. Thanks for recognizing his tremendous value to this forum.

I agree with all of these posts – Ed and Celeste and so many others have gone above and beyond to educate and provide support for me (as caregiver) and my husband. This forum is such a fantastic source of information. I am in awe of your collective dedication to helping others on this journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
