We are trying to decide between TIL and IPI.
My question right now about IPI is about how long it takes to know it is definitely not working? I know it takes sometime and time is of the essence – if you were not an ipi responder could you post how long it took to know that for sure?

For our relative it took almost 5 weeks to confirm responce. Fewer and skin rush reaction as a positive immune system responce happened 2 weeks after second treatment.
Medication actualy helped. He was progression free from start ( June 2010) to reaccurance ( Jan. 2011). We blame steroids as a trigger for cancer to reactivate. Within a month after 3 weeks on massive dose of steroids metastases multyplied in unmeasurable amount.

You may have seen this about TIL therapy:

It is a demanding and complex treatment, and I am not sure how quickly people usually
respond to it.Here is an old thread with comments about ipi (Yervoy):
http://www.melanoma.org/community/mpip-melanoma-patients-information-page/now-ipi-yippie-about-it-please-ipi-peopleIt is certainly a difficult decision to choose between the two treatments. As time is of
the essence, I feel that ipi might start working quicker. However, that's just my guess.Hope this helps.

Hi Terra
I saw results with ipi in first round (September – November 2010) by my second treatment…the cutaneous tumors started drying up. I did ipi first and am now looking into TIL etc……I am very happy I did ipi…it worked quite well but mel decided to become nastier and started the lymph node problem along with sub-qs…now I have to charge forward with something else.
