I had a mark on my ankle that met the abcde criteria. It wasn't a mole though it looked more like a birth mark. The doctor said it was very superficial whatever that means. I had a baby in October and looked back on pictures of my swollen feet and the mark was a very very faint brown spot, hardly noticeable. I don't know when it started to change but my son is 6 months old now and it's like a brown and pinkish birthmark looking thing. It's not raised at all or bleeding or anything. I'm scared as hell 🙁 I just want to know if there is hope that it could be something else…. my biopsy is takin so long..

A new ugly mole is NOT always melanoma. There are other things that can show up that are benign and ugly. Pregnancy can make moles change and can cause new ones to grow. Try not to worry until you know the results.

              +1

And add the "ugly duckling" test to your ABCDE list; comparison versus any other moles in the general area is very useful

Thanks, I'm trying not to worry but it's hard. I was told my results would be in today but now I have to wait another week so it's weighing heavy. I don't have any other moles on my legs or feet and no new ones appeared except this mark. I have 3 or 4 moles in total that I have had for as long as I remember, until this mark showed up.

If you only have a few in total, take a deep breath and concentrate on other things while you wait.
