      Hi everyone.  I have read a few previous posts about ALC and positive immune response with Yervoy.  My husband just had his 3rd infusion (10mg/kg), and I was looking back at his labs… It appears to me that he may be having a positive response.  Can anyone give me your take on these numbers and tell me if this would be a fair assessment?

      ALC

      1.3 (three months prior to Yervoy)

      1.6 (day of first infusion – 2 weeks off Zelboraf)

      2.7 (day of second infusion)

      Hi everyone.  I have read a few previous posts about ALC and positive immune response with Yervoy.  My husband just had his 3rd infusion (10mg/kg), and I was looking back at his labs… It appears to me that he may be having a positive response.  Can anyone give me your take on these numbers and tell me if this would be a fair assessment?

      Also, I was wondering about the C Reactive Protein number.  Any correlation between that and response?

      His number of immature granulocytes is up as well.  Is this indicative of anything? 

      I would love to know that his labs may show possible good signs because it has been a little difficult to see new subqs while on this treatment.  As always, thanks to anyone willing to share your insight or experience!

          Hi Tracy,

          I don't know the answer to your question but my husband is on the Yervoy 10mg/kg trial with GM-CSF and we watched his LDH #'s before he started on Yervoy he was over 1000 and then since he started the Yervoy it came down and has been in the normal range in the 200's.  His last blood test it was 235.  Yervoy worked for him and he has been on it since March 2011 before it was approved.  He got the initial 4 doses in 12 weeks and is in the maintenance phase of every 12 weeks he gets another infusion.  We actually watched the sub q's disappear and the ones in the lungs and the liver disappeared as well.  He is now NED (no evidence of disease) and has been for 10 months.  If you wish to read more check out his profile.

                Congratulations on finishing Ipi. From what you've written, these events (high increasing slope of ALC, higher CRP) are correlated with a positive response. Check out the abstracts to these papers looking into this. Increased ALC is thought to be a strong predictor of response.
