      my mum today took her ct of lungs, it show two lung nodules one 3mm and another 4mm, ground glass.does anyone had a same expirience.can that be melanoma?can that be just a cought?

          They are relatively small, but they should at least be closely monitored, as ground glass opacity nodules can have a high likelihood of being malignant.

          That being said, it is still possible it could be an inflammation and not malignant at all. If doctors are concerned, then they might want to do a fine needle biopsy, otherwise, they will probably watch and wait to see if they grow as 4mm and 3mm are quite small.

                By your profile, your mother is the one with stgae three melanoma with microscopic metastasis in one sentinel node correct?

                As Michelle said, there is a high chance (about 69% from my understanding) that ground glass opacity nodules may be malignant.

                Is a biopsy being considered?

                    hello michael, thanke you for your answer too.yes my mother is.the lung specialist told us tha a biopsy is dificult because of the size of the nodules

                        thanke you for your answer, my mum had melanoma before three months, we took safty marks and sln, the one sln got back positive with micromet<0.1mm and then a full axillary disection completed, at the hospital they didnt foun met either in bones or vital organs.this is the fist scan from then, but today we saw that the nodelus were there and at th previous scans, the same as now….i dont know what to say and belive, trying to be positive…
