Good morning:
I was wondering how long it takes for lymph node swelling to go down after a SNB. I had SNB on June 26th, two locations right under arm and right groin, all nodes were negative. I have had no problems with under my arm, but I still have a hard bean shaped knot in my groin. In addition as the day goes on my hip, thigh even knee will feel as if its badly bruised. There is no swelling or redness it just feels very bruised.
Thanks
Gwynn

You will probably want to have your oncologist keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get bigger or show signs of infection, but I had bilateral groin SNB in May of last year and had something very similar with a hard, bean-sized lump near the incision on the right. I also had aching pain in my right hip and down my leg that got worse as the day went on. It turned out to be a seroma and was still there 7 months later, when my oncologist had it drained, though it had shrunk a little. The pain, though, was gone by September. I also had a seroma on the left that was the size of a small egg, which actually did get infected a few weeks after surgery, but that one actually shrank and disappeared after about 2 months. The infected seroma itself hurt, but even though it was larger, it never did cause the kind of pain I had in the hip/leg on the right.
