Waiting for biopsy results is an exercise in patience and today I’m running a little low on that. Still, I’m posting this in off-topic because it very well could be. Have had this skin thing for at least several years, I’m not sure how many (I’m 46). However it’s always just been a smooth area of discolored skin until the last few months when it started growing bumps and itching a bit. Looking online, it seems the most likely possibilities are some form of keratosis, an atypical nevi, melanoma, or a nevi that is transitioning into its cancerous sibling. The (general) dermatologist who took the biopsy also had me schedule for an excision in a couple of weeks, but gave no hint as to his thoughts on diagnosis. Obviously nobody here is likely to know for sure, I’m just passing time and hoping for the best while being prepared for less than the best.
