What is everyone's experience with natural therapies.  Mum is taking vitamin d3, turmeric, graviola and now drinking sour sop tea.  Trying to get her into juicing as well.

we are trying everything as her only treatment is chemo due to her autoimmune disease.

      we are in Australia.

Seems to be helping us. Hubby expected to fizzle out about March but thankfully still with us. Has brain mets. Ketogenic diet seems to be a biggie – starving the cancer cells of their fuel…we've knocked out all carb where possible. Taking Vit D, IV Vit C, Salvestrol, Enzogenol, goat colostrum, have detoxed, taking pro-biotics, dried mushroom powder from Metagenics, turmeric, coumarin and Tamofifen (not a natural supplement) and more! Nothing to lose and we've done better than anyone expected so just grateful for every day. We were juicing hard out in the early days but hard to keep everything going to be honest – just so much to do each day.

Looking at starting K2 and DCA too.

Good luck with everything – lots of products, ideas and info out there. We run everything past our supportive and knowledgable oncologist and an integrative doctor who muscle tests each supplement for us, not sure if he needs the K2 and DCA but have bought a bottle of each and will muscle test for it.

Your mum's a lucky lady to have you looking out for her. Go hard!

Trying everything. There are so many recommendations out there. She is saying to us, I can't fit it all in.  So hard when she doesn't feel like eating either.

will keep trying though. You font know where to stop with the amount of information out there. Mew haven't spoken to the oncologist about the natural therapies yet, only had one appointment so far.

can any if them play up with treatment?

You may also want to investigate if there is an integrative medicine dept  where she is being treated.  That can be a great resource to investigate the combination of conventional and alternative therapies with the benefit of transparency

By the way, I also take turmeric and d3.   In addition I take aged garlic extract, grape seed extract, maitake d drops (4x), resveratol and green tea extract.  I discussed with my oncologist whose opinion is it won't do any harm and may be beneficial

                                  Hi Helen,

I'm sorry your Mum is fighting this.

I've definitely been through trying, wanting to try, and thinking I needed to try different supplements and dietary regimens. My choice now is to eat a healthy-ish diet, no different than if melanoma was not in the picture. I do understand wanting to get some power over this disease through diet. But I would say to anybody to eat healthy-ish food you genuinely enjoy now, rather being on some regimen.

One thing in my power to do, that I think is beneficial is moderate exercise.

As a dissenting opinion, I hope that helps.

                                  Best wishes to your Mum.

We tried to get mitake extract but haven't been able to source it.

mum has increased her intake of fruit and veg, mostly organic, but these are difficult to source in this area.
