My daughter has had Yervoy already and now has had 7 infusions of Keytruda. The Keytruda has kept it from spreading, but the tumor is not shrinking. She is BRAF positive but is being allowed to do this treatment. Has anybody had success with tumor shrinkage with this combo? How were the side effects?

Wow. Sounds like they want to hit that large tumor hard. Not easy to get insurance to approve that combo especially for non treatment naive patients.

That combo has the best response rate but some severe side affects. I don't have personal experience so I cant answer your questions but others do. Good luck.

I have a similar response level as your daughter.  I would definitely consider the combo and my Doctor discussed it last time I saw her a few weeks ago.

Can't speak to the experience, but I would do it.  I have very mild side effects on both Keytruda and Ipi.  I've heard the side effects are worst with the combo though.

They are being aggressive as she is young and all of her blood levels are completely normal. She had her first three hour infusion of both on Monday. The first two days after, she felt fatigue and a little flu type symptoms, appetitie low but as of yesterday she felt completelfy normal again! The best thing, is our insurance is covering it!! She had Yervoy at the beginnning of year which shrunk the tumor by 6cm so we are hoping this is the perfect combo. She will have a PET after three more infusions to see if this is effective. I believe it will be.
