      Melanoma diagnostic 1a, 0,3mm with Atypical melanocytes intraepidermal present at the margins.

      My question: Are these atypical cells already cancer (melanoma) or just susceptible to become cancer if not removed?

          If they were cancerous, then they would have said that the melanoma extends to the margins, not atypical cells.  They are not melanoma YET.

              Thanks a lot… I'll sleep better…

              Given that the sample was 5mmx4mmx1mm, I conclude that the tumor (0,3mm thick) was thus completely removed… only remain atypical cells in the epiderm to be cleaned out with WLE… Am I right?
