Quick questions for those who have had PET CT scans, did your oncologist mentions the presence of nodules they would be keeping an eye on that showed up in CT, but we're not active on the PET. I am wondering how common this is?

i suspect it is common, but am wondering.

      thanks

          Genie,

From reading your profile I think my case may be a little different from yours.  I'm stage IV and have two tumors that have shrunk while on nivolumab.  Both tumors show up on CTs and PETs but there is no FDG uptake on the PET.  I think this may not be uncommon for Stage IV patients who achieve stable disease.  I believe you are asking from the perspective of someone who has not progressed to stage IV but wondering how common it is to have nodules that don't "light up" on PETs.  Is that correct?

That is correct. Since I am taking a wait and see approach, I will receive many scans, and this is the first one.

I am stage 3a with micromets in sentinel node. Did first set of scans last November.  They found "different uptake" all over my skull and 2 nodules in my left lung, 2 mm and 3 mm.  They are indeterminate( not calcified).  So second set of scans said same thing in May. No changes in head ( just the way I was born according to the MD) and no changes in the lung.  MD said they were nodules and thinks nothing to worry about but Will have Chest CT q 6 months for 3 years.
