Hi, thats a tough one to answer with my limited knowledge (not like some folks here!) But, being at only 4mm which is just about 1/8 of an inch (im an American thats use to inches) 1/8 is nothing! As far as depth, how wide os it? Get it looked at anonymous….and, forgive me but, i hope im replying to the correct anonymous cuz theres alotta of you “anonymouses” with alotta different anonymous posts…Mike

I am with Mike…that's tough to answer. There are different types of melanoma.  Nodular, for instance, has a faster veritical growth than horizontal.  The superficial spreading which spreads horizontal for a while before it it begins to decend veritically.  Only way to know is a complete excission with pathology.  Which basically is the answer to everything on this site.  You don't know until the science tells you so.

            Best of luck to you.

Well it’s only very slightly raised, like, you could slightly feel it when you’d rub a finger on the skin and across the mole. But it’s been like that for about 2 years now.

Nothing on the surface can indicate what is going on underneath. Any mole of concern would have to be removed and reviewed under a microscope to determine spread margins.
