Well, you should know exactly what the biopsy said. So ask for your results. I can't imagine someone leaving you hanging like that. If "it isn't good", I would be going to an oncologist who specializes in Melanoma and skip the Derm at this point in time. Or at least make appointments close together. Once you get your results and post them to your profile, the good people on here will be able to give you more of idea on what to Expect. Usually though, a biopsy is followed by a Wider Excision of the area of the lesion…..then depending what your biopsy results are, they go from there. Sorry you have to be here. Good Luck.

If you can get a copy of your pathology report and post it here, we might be able to be of some help. But until you have more information, there is no way for any of us to give you constructive advise. So much depends upon that initial pathology as a starting point for questions and your next step. Treatment options and prognosis vary greatly depending on stage so getting your initial stage (pathology info) is the next step.

Yes get a copy of your pathology report and blood work if you had any and all scans on cd and everything. Basically you might need to go to a place that specializes in melanoma and they will need these. Good luck and keep us posted. There are a lot of good mel warriors here that have already helped me with their knowledge.

Who took the original sample and sent it to the lab for biopsy? Certainly is poor protocol to tell you the results were bad and leave you hanging, but that is water over the dam at this point.
You definitely need to meet with a dermatologist, surgeon or oncologist (pref who specializes in melanoma) to have your lab results reviewed with you and to lay out the next steps for you. You should do this as quickly as possible as the anxiety over waiting is usually worse that the outcome.
Sorry you have to be worring about this. Hope all goes well when you meet with your doctor.
