Hi Jamie. I think I remember you:-) Hard to say what the red spots are but getting it checked out is a good idea. But…..it makes more sense to me to have a melanoma specialist, such as a surgical oncolgist, do the checking rather than a derm. These are the docs who know how melanoma acts much more than derms. It doesn't sound all that suspicious to me, but getting it checked out by someone who knows is the way to go. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Maybe the dots are just blood vessels.  What I'd do in a situation like this is give the dots a reasonable time to heal.  You did have trauma.  If, after say 2 weeks, things look worse instead of better, that's when I'd be making an appointment.  You know you had trauma so giving things a reasonable time to heal is just common sense.  In fact, a doctor may say the same thing.  Why biopsy something that is the result of trauma?  If things improve, great.  If they don't, you take care of business.
