Hello I was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma last year and now have shown a recurrence in the same leg and small spots on the liver. I have been looking into Rigvir for a while and many look at me as if I’m crazy. I have small children and need help and have heard back from their clinic but want to speak to people wgo have tried it. hope4cancer.com

In all my years on this board, I think I have heard this mentioned one time.  And I'm not positive it was posted here, it might have been an email from a Latvian native.  You might have better luck searching for people on European sites because this isn't something available outside of Eastern Europe that I'm aware of.  Certainly not FDA approved as a treatment in the USA.  Good luck!

After looking at the youtube video of this poor fellow who lost his life this June 2016, Dr Jimenez of Hope4Cancer does not inspire me at all. If you want to seek alternative medicine, you can look at Gerson institute or Sanoviv institute. And they are all in Tijuana.

I know its scary. Don't you have absolutely no therapies available to you in terms of immuno or targeted therapies?

Are you, like me faced with deceiving adjuvant therapies for stage 3?

I am considering Sanoviv at the moment, not knowing what to do yet. My choices of adjuvant therapies are interferon or two c'inical trials that I'm not even sire I would qualify for. So I'm watch and wait at the moment and I want to do something….

Sorry, I misread you post, you have had a recurrence and liver seems to be affected.

Listen, don't play with your life. Do something you believe in of course but even if it's scary, you have to survive this. Do a holistic approach that includes traditional therapy (allopatic), nutrition, energetic, psychological and spiritual "therapies". This is my point of view and if I progress, I will stick to that plan.

You can gamble with many things but a broad approach seems to me like doing everything in my power to overcome this thing.

Anyway, you will choose what's best for you.

                        Get some rest.

Why would you not start one of the great and well studied immunotherapy drugs that have helped to save many lives and keep a lot of us living much longer than what would have happened in the past? It's a little crazy not to start with something that is proven to work for melanoma. But, certainly it is your body and your life, up to you to decide what path you want to take.

I'm from Canada and also looking at Rigvir as an option…the results and information on success rates are exceptional and can actually be complimentary to other therapies.  I think it's important to research all options. Although we like to think North American treatment options are best…we have to be honest and look outside the borders and understand why some of these treatments are not offered (it's not always because they do not work).  My only option for treatment at this time (since I don't qualify for yervoy etc) is interfuron-alpha (standard treatment in Canada).  There is also a clinic in the Bahamas that does Rigvir that I am looking into.  I'm also doing as much as possible holistically (natural food products, Conventional doctors think I'm crazy I'm sure as will many of you…but do what your gut tells you.  Rigvir is standard of care in many areas outside of north america.

What a coincidence. I am recuperating between OX-40/anti-PD-L1 treatments at a resort in Cancun. On the elevator the other day I said hi to a woman that stepped on, and after a brief exchange she told me her husband was here for treatment of late stage melanoma.

Turns out this hotel is part of a very expensive package sold by Dr. Jiminez's Hope 4 Cancer outfit. I met her husband and did some digging on the internet and was saddened by what I found about Jiminez, but encouraged about Rigvir.

There are many patients here at the hotel, his practice appears to be booming.

Hope 4 Cancer's treatment includes a bunch of voodoo: coffee enemas, ultrasound "therapy", light "therapy" plus other magic juju. But it also includes Rigvir.

The Rigvir actually looks promising, even though I can't say the same for Jiminez. It is now available at several locations in Europe and has become the object of growing medical tourism to Europe.

The Latvian clinical trials apparently satisfied Latvia and it appears that additional trials are underway in the EU.

For me, it means another option. I have failed both Yervoy and Keytruda. TIL is my current plan B, but in my eyes is an extreme measure because of its debilitating toxicity.

In that light Rigvir looks appealing.

                                                    Paul,

I would like to know what studies you have come across that lead you to believe that Rigvir has promising results for late stage patients.

I have seen a few graphs that adress progression free survival for stage 1b, 2a, 2b and 2c. And one clinical case of a woman with stage 4 which was supposedly progression-free and alive but still with active disease.

Please, let me know. I also found out that a single vial of Rigvir costs 900$US and that you have to buy it from one of the facility in Tijuana that carry it (Sanoviv, Hope4Cancer, Chipsa, …) after having followed one of their treatment I suppose.

Unless you are able to give us a way to get it from the people you are with in Cancun.

                                                        Let me know please.

I don't know these folks that happen to be at this hotel. And as I mentioned I am not a big fan of hope4cancer since it appears to exist simply to generate revenue from desperate people.

I did contact the folks in Latvia, to inquire about cost. They want some details of my case first which has to wait for my return stateside.

Most of the above links hash the same stories over and over again, and only 1 stage 4 patient's results are actually discussed.

What I found that is hopeful is that it apparently has received a grant from the EU to conduct additional trials: https://www.google.com.mx/amp/medicalxpress.com/news/2016-08-virus-rigvir-cancer-survival.amp?client=safari

On the elevator the other day I said hi to a woman that stepped on, and after a brief exchange she told me her husband was here for treatment of late stage melanoma.

I met her husband and did some digging on the internet and was saddened by what I found about Jiminez, but encouraged about Rigvir.

But it also includes Rigvir.

The Rigvir actually looks promising, even though I can't say the same for Jiminez. It is now available at several locations in Europe and has become the object of growing medical tourism to Europe.

For me, it means another option. I have failed both Yervoy and Keytruda. TIL is my current plan B, but in my eyes is an extreme measure because of its debilitating toxicity.
