I developed a seroma from what I've researched in one of my groin excisions from surgery last Tuesday where 2 lymph nodes were removed. Is this something I should contact my doctor about, or will it go away eventually? It's about the size of a Ping pong ball btw

I would let your Dr know.  I had one after my sentinel node biopsy.  It became pretty large and one day at the airport I bent to get the plane ticket I dropped and the seroma popped.  It closed after discharging and a couple of weeks later grew again.  My surgeon woulnd up opening and cleaning it but it left a large area that took several weeks to heal (I had to pack the opening with gauze twice a day).  Nothing critical, but I think you would prefer not to have the discomfort and iconveneince.

I had a seroma develop after one of my axillary lymphadenectomies.  It was drained via needle aspiration by my surgeon, which wasn't a great deal of fun, but better that continued problems!!  I agree with Sabklyn.  Check with your doc and see what they think is best for you.  Wishing you my best, Celeste

Just a little update on my seroma in case someone googles it as much as I did. I went to my follow up appointment today and the doctor aspirated it…said it should be fine in a couple days…said it was probably caused by me walking around on my leg too soon as I was walking on it the next day after surgery as it felt fine…so don't do as I did…rest is the key lol
