One yeah ago I had a melanoma removed. .63mm/non ulcerated/2mitosis per square/Clarks level 2/located on back/ male 30 years old/ clear margins. The doctors decided not to do a SNLB because my depth was under .75 so the likelihood of a positive SNLB was low. I was staged at 1b. My question to everyone is should they have done a SNLB? It should be noted that I did have a Castle Biosciences Melanoma test and it categorized me as low risk. This test is approved and all stage 1 and 2 patients should try to get this test to help further generations of patients. They have approximately 600 patients with known 5 year outcomes and their stay is holding up well. Please let me hear your guys thoughts -Mark

Based on my similar experience (.75mm, Stage 1b upper back/neck area) late last year and subsequent frantic Googling, it sounds like .76mm or less with lower mitotic rate doesn't indicate a SLNB, so your doctor probably did the right thing.
Good to hear that test shows you as low risk. I haven't done anything like that yet, but I have a checkup appointment soon so I'll bring it up.

I tried to get the DecisionDX-Melanoma test done but Castle said since the focus of my tumor was extremely small and the proporation of tumor cells was no more than 30%, their type of analysis would need more tumor tissue. . insufficient specimen quantity.
