      Hi all,

I haven’t posted much lately but I have a question. I had two rounds of IPPI and developed colitis so I couldn’t have the other two doses. Now, 11 months later, I have developed a skin rash. It doesn’t really itch though. I called the Dr and he said yes it probably is from the IPPI. Told me to put a steroid cream on it. I didn’t think to ask if it will go away and how long that will take. Has anyone else had this and what did you do? It’s on my face and looks terrible. I go in next Tues. for a PET Scan so will talk to him more then.

      Thanks,

      Nancy

          Hi Nancy,
I don’t see how he could possibly attribute your rash to ipi without even seeing you!
I also did two rounds and couldn’t finish due to colitis. I had the ipi rash the first time and it itched plenty.
          Good luck with your scans.

                Hi Nancy,

I've had light eczema/dermatitis issues issues since I moved into a house with pets, but they got ampilfied quite a bit after IL-2 (summer 2010) and continued after IPI (summer 2011).

The 2 toipcal creams I use almost daily for relief and control are desonide (steroidal) when things get bad, and Protopic (non-steroidal) for less severe rashes. If I don't use one of these, these rashes blow up big time on me. Protopic was first prescribed to me during IL-2 treatment, when they didn't want any steroids in my system at all, even from ointments.

The other alternatives I've tried are fluocinide (steroidal) and Elidel (pimecrolimus) (non-steroidal) creams. For whatever reasons, I've stuck with the first two I mentioned, Desonide and Protopic.

Hope you get relief, which has been pretty fast for the rashes I've had with both the products I've mentioned.

I forgot to mention, I believe that for the steroid creams I was told not to use on my face. Don't know if that's a differentiator between those and the non-steroidal ones I mentioned. Luckily I haven't had to test wtih any rashes on my face.

Thanks for your help! I emailed back and forth with my Dr on Sat. And he gave me prednisone for two weeks. It’s already helped a lot but its not gone. I see him for a PET Scan Tues. it’s my 3 month check, so I will talk to him more about what is going on. I don’t have an allergies and haven’t changed anything. The only thing I can think is that it is related to the IPPI. I’ll know more tomorrow.
